The skye times mobile

A series of races have been planned over the winter.

Organised by the Skye & Lochalsh Running & Athletics Club, the races take place in Skeabost, Skinadin, Braes, Glenmore, Glenbrittle and Sconser.

The race list is as follows:

Saturday 5th October
Skeabost 5k
Registration at Skeabost Hall at 11.30am, race starts at 12 noon.
Out-and-back route along quiet roads. There will be tea, coffee and baking in the hall afterwards.

Saturday 2nd November
Skinadin Forest Trail Race (3 or 6 mile options)
Registration at the Skinadin Forest walks car park, beside Broadford Cemetery from 11.30am. Race starts at 12 noon. Options of one or two laps of forest track, path and old tarmac road.

Saturday 7th December
Braes Road Race (4.5 miles)
Registration at Braes Hall from 11.30am, race starts at 12 noon.
An undulating road race around the lumps and bumps of Braes! There will be soup and baking in the hall afterwards, followed by our AGM – all welcome.

Saturday 4th January
Glenmore 10k & Fun Runs
Registration at Skye Camanachd Clubhouse from 11.30am, race starts at 12 noon.
A challenging (read steep!) 5k uphill into Glenmore followed by a challenging 5k return! There will be soup and baking in the clubhouse afterwards.
(There will also be a fun run (2 miles) and ‘extra’ fun run (4 miles) on the day. Registration for fun run is from 10.30am, race starts at 11.00. The 4-mile race goes off with the 10K).

Saturday 1st February
Glenbrittle 10-mile Trail Race
Registration from 11.30am at Fairy Pools car park, Glenbrittle. Race starts at 12 noon.
A 10-mile race around the forest tracks of Glenbrittle and Eynort.

Saturday 14th March
Sconser (very nearly) 10k
Registration at Sconser Golf Club from 11.30am, race starts at 12 noon.
The route is an out-and-back from the golf club along the Moll road.
